Sky's sire: Ch.
K-Way's Omen of Destiny CDX

'Omen'
was born on Feb 26th 1976. He was a rich biscuit and that colour
is still seen today in Sky and in his pups. He was owned by Bob
And Wanda Krauss of K-Way's Samoyeds. Omen's sire, Ch. Sassillies Merlyn
of Vicrian is the foundation of the very successful sledding
kennel Wolf River Samoyeds in Wisconsin, USA.
Omen
semen was collected when Omen was aged 7, around 1983. This was
the first Samoyed semen to be frozen. Ch. Kolinka's Quilted Bear
semen was also frozen around that time. In 1998, the frozen semen was
used for the first time and is the breeding by Artificial Insemination
that produced a litter of 7 pups, one of these pupsicles was our boy Sky.
Omen lived to the age of 14. In his time, he produced many
champions, achieved top stud dog awards and through Artificial
Insemination and frozen semen he is still producing champions 18 years
after he passed over to the Rainbow Bridge.
Omen
was known for his sound structure, superb movement, and classic
middle of the road type. He produced these characteristics in his
offspring, and Sky has continued this trait in his offspring, proving
that quality goes a long way. Sky also produces the rich biscuit
colour, but except for a few dark spots on the tips of the ears, the
biscuit usually fades by the time the pups reach the age of one year
old.
Sky
also inherited the same ability that Omen had, to produce pups with
exceptional balance, the ability to produce that long upper arm that
allows for superb ground covering gait, the classic Sammy alert
expression and the all important easy to live with temperament.
